Len Rich - Author
Hi. My name is Len Rich, and for more than three decades I've been writing articles and books with an outdoor theme.
As part of Labrador Angling Adventures staff, during the summer months you'll find me at Eagle Lake Lodge and Awesome Lake Lodge where I am employed as on-site operations and marketing manager. A part of my activities includes fishing with guests, tying flies, and ensuring that everyone has a great time!
My experiences have taken me across much of eastern Canada, in particular Newfoundland and Labrador. My expertise is fly fishing for Eastern brook trout and Atlantic salmon, and I enjoy fly tying and creating new patterns to hopefully fool these great fish.
Through four published books and hundreds of feature articles I have recorded my outdoor experiences. They include "Newfoundland salmon flies ... and how to tie them", published in 1985 and still available directly through me; "The Best of In The Woods", published in 1991 by Cuff Publications of St. John's, NL, and now out of print; "Fly Fishing Tips and Tactics ... for Atlantic salmon, Arctic char and Eastern brook trout", published in 1999; and my latest "Rivers and Woods", a collection of short stories and previously published articles, both available through Jesperson Publishing, St. John's, NL.
Included here is "The Best of IN THE WOODS", a collection of short articles which first appeared in The Newfoundland Herald, a weekly entertainment guide. "In the Woods" was the name of my weekly column which ran for more than a decade. This book was published in 1991 by Cuff Publications, St. Johns, NF, and is now out-of-print. (Material may be reprinted through "ACCESS", the Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency with permission of the author).
I hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as I enjoyed the experiences and writing about them..
